Rodney Keith Vanderpool, 71, Loving Father and Grandfather
Rodney Keith Vanderpool, 71, of Nova, passed away, Thursday, January 17, 2013 in his home surrounded by family.
Rodney was born March 3, 1941 in Floyd County, Kentucky to Harles and Myrtle (nee Reed) Vanderpool.
Rodney married the love of his life, Kathy Cline on February 9, 1980.
Rodney worked for the Sheet Metal Workers Union for more than 30 years, before he retired. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Mansfield. Rodney was an avid outdoorsman, and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He loved spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife Kathy, whom he was married to for 32 years, Rodney will be deeply missed by his daughters; Marlee (Ken) Whitcomb of Ashland, Laurie (Ken) Swallows of Lakeland, FL, Krystal (Ken) Abshire of Nova, sons; Michael (Teresa) Vanderpool of Willard and Keith (Holly) Vanderpool of Richwood, 23 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; mother Myrtle Vanderpool of Greenwich, sister Glessie (Charles) Slone of Mansfield, brother Harles (Charlotte) Vanderpool Jr. of North Fairfield.
Rodney is preceded in death by his father Harles Vanderpool.
Funeral Services will be Monday, January 21, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. in Denbow-Primm-Kemery Funeral Home, with Pastor Bob Stanley Officiating. Private burial will be at the Vanderpool Family Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday, January 20, 2013, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
