Ethel Lucille Fulk, 100, of Ashland, passed away Saturday, June 29, 2013, in her home at Belmont Tower, Brethren Care Village.
She was born March 29, 1913, in Ashland, Ohio to the late James J. and Bertha E. (nee Steigerwalt) Mowry.
Ethel graduated from Hayesville High School in 1931 as a salutatorian of her class.
She worked at The Improved, prior to marrying the love of her life, Paul Harold Fulk on June 8, 1935.
After 15 years as a full-time homemaker, she returned to work at A.L. Garber Company; and completed her working career as a companion and housekeeper for the late Judge Mildred Meyers.
Ethel was active in the Green Valley Garden Club and Christ United Methodist Church where she helped in the nursery and served as president of one of the missionary circles.
Ethel will be deeply missed by her four children, Shirley (John) Boyd of Ashland, Lawrence (Janet) Fulk of Mount Vernon, Kenneth (Helen Marie) Fulk of Holland, and Sharon Hunt of Atlanta, Georgia, nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandaughter, and a sister in law Elmina Mowry of Ashland.
In addition to her parents, Ethel is preceded in death by her husband, Paul whom passed away in 1978, three brothers; Arthur Mowry Sr., Loren Mowry, and Robert Mowry; and sister Alice Mosher.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 3, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. in the Christ United Methodist Church, with Reverend James Cox officiating. Interment will follow in the Ashland Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday, July 2, 2013, in the Denbow-Primm-Kemery Funeral home from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
