Leon Jay Iddings, 61 of Ashland, Ohio, passed away early Friday morning May 9, 2014 at Brethren Care village.
Leon was born in Ashland on October 30, 1952 to the late Doris (nee Altman) Iddings and had been a resident of Ashland for most of his life.
He attended Dale-Roy School and had worked at the Dale-Roy Workshop and more recently worked at the Richland Newhope Industries in Mansfield.
His favorite pastime was listening to music.
Leon is survived by his sister, Joahann Thompson (Dave Duncan) of Ashland; his brother, Timothy (Janet) Iddings of Ashland; His caregivers, Karen & Mike Cline of Ontario and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother Doris Iddings, a sister, Janet Hood and two brothers, Dwight Altman and an infant brother Dale Altman.
Graveside funeral services will be held Monday, May 12, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Mt Olivet Cemetery, Olivesburg, Ohio with the Rev. Donald Earlenbaugh officiating. There will be no visiting hours. A Celebration of Leon’s Life will be announced at a later date. The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to Brethren Care Village, 2000 Center St., Ashland, Ohio 44805; Dale-Roy School, 1256 S. Center St., Ashland, Ohio 44805; or Richland Newhope Industries, 150 E. Fourth St., Mansfield, Ohio 44902.
