Obituary for Sandra Kay Johnson

Sandra Kay Johnson, 1950 - 2014

Sandra Kay Johnson, 64, of Ashland, passed away early Friday afternoon, September 26, 2014 at the Good Shepherd Home following a short illness.

Sandra was born June 7, 1950 in Bloomington, IL. and was the daughter of the late Clifford and Beverly Jean (Pisell) Freer. She was a graduate of Sylmar High School in Sylmar California.

On September 27, 1969 she married the love of her life, Paul B. Johnson and the couple would have celebrated their 45th anniversary today. Following their marriage the couple resided in California for 18 years before moving to the Ashland area in 1987.

Sandra was a wonderful loving wife, mother and grandmother and was a homemaker.
She was a life member of the Am Vets Post #96 in Ashland and was a member of the V.F.W. Post #1067 Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed scrap-booking, reading and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband Paul B. Johnson of Ashland; one daughter, Krystal L. Shire of Ashland; one son, Kevin M. (April) Johnson of Mansfield; six grandchildren, J.P. Shire, Kayla Shire, Austin Johnson, Daniel Johnson, Shawnda Mowry and Brandon Mowry; a daughter-in-law, Mindy A. Johnson of Hayesville; one sister, Linda Bates of OR; a step sister, Vicki (Robert) Dexter of West Salem; two brothers, Edward J. Strange and David W. Strange of CA; and a sister-in-law, Natalie Johnson of RI.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Kenneth Paul Johnson on April 23, 2009 and three brothers, Billy J., Thomas R. & Lawrence M. Strange.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Denbow-Primm-Kemery funeral Home with the Rev. Donald Earlenbaugh officiating. Burial will be in the Ashland Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Denbow-Primm-Kemery Funeral Home.
