Susan Fitzgerald, 67, Retired from Abbot Lab

Susan Fitzgerald, 67 of Ashland passed away February 11, 2015 with her children by her side in Hospice of North Central Ohio.

She was born in Akron, Ohio on June 2, 1947 to the late True and Fern (nee Kettering) Archer.

Susan worked at Abbott Labs in Ashland as a tool and die operator for 23 years.

She was first diagnosed with Cancer in 1988 and went through 21 procedures to fight it. Susan lost her battle with Cancer, but won in life being a survivor for 27 years.

Susan enjoyed gardening and sewing and was an avid shopper. She liked being with friends and family and holiday get-togethers. Susan believed in helping people who needed a break in life; buying several mobile homes and renovating them and giving them to families who needed assistance. She was also a member of the Ashland Amvets Auxiliary Post 96.

She is survived by her four children, Bryan (Melody) McQuillan, Michelle (Bill) Davisson, Cathy (Kevin) Ambrose, and Christopher McQuillan; one sister, Connie (Larry) Archer; five grandchildren, Richard Davisson, Cassie McQuillan, Nick McQuillan, Erica Davisson, and Cody Lauppe; four great grandchildren; one niece; and one nephew.

Susan is preceded in death by her parents.

A Celebration of Susan’s Life will be held, Saturday, February 21, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Moose Lodge of Ashland, 1220 Cleveland Avenue, Ashland, Ohio 44805.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Denbow-Primm-Kemery Funeral Home, 313 Center Street, Ashland, Ohio 44805 to help defray final expenses.
