Obituary for Robert Scott "Rob" Thurman

Robert “Rob” Scott Thurman 49 of Ashland, passed away Friday morning, August 21, 2015 at his residence.
He was born November 5, 1965 in Warren, Ohio to the late Robert Leslie and Beverly Gayle (nee Dearing) Thurman. He was a graduate of Mansfield Malabar High School class of 1984. Following his graduation from high school, Rob joined the United States Marine Corps, and served his country for seven years, obtaining the rank of sergeant.
Rob had been employed with Sprint in Warsaw, Indiana and also in Mansfield for 16 years. He then was employed with Mansfield Distribution Warehouse, Crane Plumbing, Dasco Home Medical Equipment and most recently Hawkins Market in Ashland.
Rob was a volunteer with the Miss Ohio Pageant in Mansfield thru his work in Mansfield. He had great compassion for the elderly and enjoyed helping people. He loved to golf, swim, reading and keeping up with current events. He was a fan of the Cleveland Indians, Browns and Cavaliers, and enjoyed watching old re-runs on T.V.
H is survived by his devoted companion, Debra L. Biddinger of Ashland, one daughter, Makayla Thurman of Mansfield; one sister, Stephanie Downing (Chris Taylor) of Springfield, MO., and two nieces, Amity (Nick) Shedd of St. Louis, MO; and Brynna Downing of Cape Girardeau, MO.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Kevin Thurman, and a nephew, Joshua Downing.
