Glenna Kay Owens, 76, of Ashland, passed away Thursday night, October 15, 2015 at Crystal Care in Ashland following a long illness.
She was born in Martins Ferry, Ohio on August 20, 1939 to Robert Sivert and Gertrude L. Collins. Glenna was raised by her step-father and mother, Lewis P. and Gertrude L. (Collins) Schreiber.
Glenna had worked at the Industrial Publishing Company in Cleveland as a department supervisor before settling down to become a wife, mother and homemaker.
She enjoyed reading, writing, and taking walks in the woods with her dog, especially during the fall.
On April 21, 2966 Glenna was married to Thomas J. Owens who survives her. The couple would have celebrated their 50th anniversary next year.
She is also survived by two sons, Thomas “John” Owens of Ashland and Gareth A. Owens of Loudonville.
Brothers and sisters-in-law, Michael & Diane Malek of Firestone, CO; and Alan & Susan Owens of Lakewood, OH; Nieces, Naomi Malek of Denver, CO; Melinda Malek of Firestone, CO; Allison Owens of Lakewood, OH; and a nephew, John Owens of Lakewood,OH.
Glenna was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis P. and Gertrude L. Schreiber.
In keeping with Glenna’s wishes there will be no visitation or funeral services.
