Adolph E. Tucky, 95
Adolph E. Tucky, 95 of Ashland passed away Sunday afternoon, November 15, 2015 in Brethren Care Village.
He was born on June 12, 1920 in Cleveland to the late Michael and Anna (nee Dlugas) Tucki.
Adolph married the love of his life, the former Ruth E. Herbert on April 19, 1941 in Holy Name Church in Cleveland.
He proudly joined the United States Navy on June 5, 1945.
Adolph along with his wife Maggie, owned Tucky’s Garage and Body Shop and Tucky’s Bar in Cleveland. The couple would call Ashland home in 1961 where they owned and operated the Ashland Terrace Hotel and the Golden Key Motel.
He was a member of the St. Edward Catholic Church in Ashland.
Adolph is survived by two sons, Richard A. (Dolores) Tucky of Cleveland and Roger Tucky of Ashland; a daughter-in-law, Kris Tucky of Las Vegas; six grandchildren, Kevin (Tina) Tucky, Todd (Mimi) Tucky, Kathleen Tucky, Annmarie (Rick) Cowin, Tyler Tucky and Madison Tucky; seven great grandchildren, Hannah, Ethan, Emma, Evan, Alyssa, Mackenzie, and Diego; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
In addition to his parents, Adolph is preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Ruth E. “Maggie” Tucky who passed away December 13, 2008; a son, Ronald Tucky; a daughter-in-law, Dee Tucky; four sisters; and three brothers.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, November 19, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Edward Catholic Church, 501 Cottage Street, Ashland, OH 44805 with Reverend Father Rodney A. Kreidler officiating. Interment will follow in Vermillion Cemetery, where the Ashland Veteran’s Honor Guard will conduct full military honors. Friends may call Wednesday, November 18, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home, 313 Center Street, Ashland, OH 44805.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Edward Catholic Church, 501 Cottage Street, Ashland, OH 44805.
