Signa Eileen Johnson, 96

Signa Eileen Johnson, 96, of Ashland passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2015 in Lutheran Village.

She was born on October 2, 1919 to the late Earl W. and Roma Elizabeth (Nee Stiverson) Hennis.

Eileen graduated from Prospect High School, Class of 1937. She married Dale Albert Johnson on August 27, 1938 in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.

Eileen was a homemaker all of her life. She was a devoted member of Peace Lutheran Church in Ashland where she was a Sunday School Teacher. She was also a member of the Mary Martha Circle.

She is survived by one daughter, Cathy (Larry) Viers of Ashland; one son, Michael (Vickie) Johnson of Richmond, Indiana; five grandchildren, ten great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

In addition to her parents, Eileen is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Dale Johnson who passed away on January 6, 1999; one son, John Earl Johnson; and a sister Patricia Ann Mouser.

Funeral services will be held, Saturday, December 12, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. in the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home with Reverend Robert J. Groenke Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the Prospect Cemetery in Marion County. Friends may call one hour prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
