Obituary for Lois Maxine Oberholtzer (Swinehart)

Lois M. Oberholtzer 95, of Ashland, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Friday morning, April 1, 2016.
Lois was born in Wayne County, Ohio on November 11, 1920 and was the daughter of Ray and Cora (nee Brownson) Swinehart. She had been a resident of Ashland County for most of her life.
She was a graduate of Ashland High School class of 1939. She had worked as an Office Manager for the W.T. Grant Company from which she retired. After her retirement she worked at Irwin’s Office Supply for more than 10 years, but Lois felt the most rewarding time in her life was being a mother and raising her children and spending time with them.
She was a member of Ashland Grace Brethren Church and the Builders Adult Bible Fellowship and was active in other church activities. She enjoyed Quilting and had made a Quilt for every grandchild when they got married. She also sewed and would paint the finished wood projects that her Husband Joe would make for the children and grandchildren. But being with her family was her most enjoyable time.
On May 6, 1940 Lois married the love of her life, Joe Oberholtzer, and the couple spent fifty five loving years together before he passed away on September 12, 1995. She is survived by her children, Larry (Bonnie) Oberholtzer of Ashland; Rebecca (Michael) Schmidt of Columbus; Jane (John) Rowe of Ashland; John (Norma) Oberholtzer of Corbin, KY; Peter (Dixie) Oberholtzer of Ashland; 12 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Joe Oberholtzer and one sister, Helen Boyer.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. from the Ashland Grace Brethren Church with the Rev. Norm Johnson and Pastor Scot Keen officiating. Burial will be in the Chestnut Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 12:00 noon until the time of the service Tuesday afternoon at the church. The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to Ashland Grace Brethren Church, 1144 W. Main St., Ashland, Ohio 44805 or to Hospice of North Central Ohio, 1050 Dauch Dr., Ashland, Ohio 44805.
