Obituary for Stefan Andrew

Stefan Thomas Andrew, 66

Stefan Thomas Andrew, 66, of Menlo Park, California passed away July 26, 2016 unexpectedly.

He was born on April 30, 1950, the son of the late Willard “Bill” and Lucile (nee Holt) Andrew. While growing up Stefan resided in Mansfield, OH, Buffalo, NY, Pittsburgh, PA, and Boston, MA prior to moving to California.

Stefan graduated from high school in Buffalo, NY. He received a degree in Physics from Harvard University in Boston and his PH.D from the Ohio State University. Stefan was employed by Lockheed Martin in California as a software engineer. Most of his adult life was spent in the San Francisco Bay area, where he enjoyed hiking and visiting the parks in the area.

Stefan traveled throughout the U.S. and abroad.

He was an avid reader and had a very large collection of books. Stefan loved science fiction and the Twilight Zone. He had a great sense of humor and was loved by his colleagues, friends, and family. Stefan will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his four aunts, Clara Walter of Greenwich, Gertrude (Keith) Sparks of Ashland, Allene Gramly of Mansfield, Geneva Riley of Florida, and numerous cousins.

Stefan was preceded in death by his loving parents.

A memorial service Celebrating Stefan’s Life will be held, Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home with Reverend Tina Hunt officiating. Interment will be in the Ashland Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
