Marjorie M. Gast, 91, of Ashland, passed away Wednesday afternoon December 21, 2016 at Crystal Care Center in Ashland, following a long illness.
She was born in Portsmouth, Ohio on April 6, 1925 and was the daughter of the late Roy and Cresie (nee Evans) Frazier.
Marjorie had been employed at Archway, National Latex Co, had been a cook at the Peter Pan Child Care in Ashland and had offered baby sitting in her home.
She was a member of the First Christian Church in Ashland. She had a great love for children and would offer babysitting in her home for many of the area families.
On December 30, 1942 she was married to Raymond A. Gast who preceded her in death. She is survived by one son, Raymond J. (Twila) Gast of Ashland; two grandsons, Daniel Gast of Clearwater, FL; James (Sheri) Gast of Ashland; two great grandchildren, Courtney and Cody Gast and one half-sister, Margaret McCarver of Mead, Nebraska.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her step father, David Akers; a brother, William Frazier; one sister, Minnie Akers and a half-sister, Juanita Welch.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday December 28, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Ashland County Memorial Park. Friends may call on Wednesday December 28, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of North Central Ohio, 1050 Dauch Dr. Ashland, Ohio 44805 or to the Alzheimer’s Association, Northwest Ohio Chapter, 2131 Park Ave. West, Suite 123, Ontario, Ohio 44906.
