Francis D. “Frank” Chandler, 83, of Ashland passed away Tuesday afternoon, February 21, 2017 in the Good Shepherd Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center surrounded by many friends.
He was born in Ashland, Ohio on May 23, 1933 to the late Charles E. and Rose L. (nee Aulger) Chandler.
Frank proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.
He retired after more than 35 years from the A.L. Garber Company where he worked in the stripping department. Frank enjoyed volunteering at the Ashland Public Library. He attend Grace Brethren Church during his life.
Frank is survived by many friends.
He is preceded in death by his loving parents.
Funeral services will be held, Monday, February 27, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. in the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home with Reverend Harry Strachan officiating. Interment will be in the Ashland Cemetery where the Ashland Veteran’s Honor Guard will conduct full military honors. Friends may call one hour prior to the service from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cat Feline Sanctuary, 1130 East Main Street, Suite 136, Ashland, Ohio 44805 or to Hospice of North Central Ohio, 1050 Dauch Drive, Ashland, Ohio 44805.
