Graciela Quezada Ocampo, 81
Graciela Quezada Ocampo, 81, of Ashland passed away, Friday morning, February 24, 2017 in the Good Shepherd Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born November 22, 1935 to the late Rafael and Maria (nee Ocampo) Quezada in Santo Domingo, Chontales, Nicaragua.
Graciela was an Elementary School Teacher for many years in Nicaragua. After she moved to McAllen, Texas, Graciela worked in the Mexican Christian Church where she was an assistant minister.
She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Ashland. Graciela was active in Bible studies throughout her life and enjoyed visiting shut-ins.
Graciela moved to Ashland, Ohio in 2007 and had resided with her niece, Mariely (Doug) Dawson who survives.
She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Graciela was preceded in death by her siblings, Edmundo Quezada, Maria Antonia Quezada de Cajina, Eliseo Quezada, and Hector Quezada.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Trinity Lutheran Church, 508 Center Street, Ashland, Ohio 44805 with Reverend Eric Riesen officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the church. Interment will be in Roselawn Cemetery in McAllen, Texas at a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church, 508 Center Street, Ashland, Ohio 44805, the Good Shepherd Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 622 Center Street, Ashland, Ohio 44805 or First Church of the Brethren, 122 East Third Street, Ashland, Ohio 44805.
