Matthew L. Burkhart, 44

Matthew L. Burkhart, 44 of Ashland passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday, August 1, 2017 in Ohio Health Mansfield Hospital.

He was born December 27, 1972 to the late Delbert and Cheryl (nee Parker) Burkhart in Ashland.

Matt was employed at Bo Lacey Construction and worked in the concrete industry throughout his life.

He was a member of Storyside Church in Bellville. Matt enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle and water sports including boating and skiing. He loved spending time with his family and friends at cookouts. Most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Matt was a fun loving soul who lived life to the fullest, who took care of his family and will be deeply missed by many.

Matt is survived by two daughters, Jessica (Ryan) Sampson of Shelby and Anicia Cooper of Rittman; two sons, Logan Burkhart of Ashland and his estranged son Eric Burley of Fredericktown; three grandchildren, Paige, Nyomi, and Nikira; one sister, Heather (Shawn) Gusan of Columbus; two brothers, Tim (Sue) Burkhart of Ashland and Kevin Burkhart of Mansfield; and numerous nieces nephews and close friends.

Matt is preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held, Saturday, August 5, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. in the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home with the Rev. Donald Earlenbaugh officiating. Interment will be in the Dickey Cemetery. Friends may call, Friday August 4, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home.
