Wilma F. Magers, 97, of Ashland, Ohio, passed away Friday, October 20, 2017 following a stroke and heart attack on October 10, 2017.
Wilma was born on October 22, 1919 in Norcatur, KS. And was the daughter of Albert E. and Ethel (Zeiger) Moler. On December 25, 1938 she married Ralph A. Magers. They moved from Kansas to Mansfield, OH in 1939. They enjoyed 57 years of marriage until Ralph’s passing on January 15, 1996. They raised their family of four children in Olivesburg and thereafter lived in Mansfield. Wilma had worked at Ashland Florist, was manager of The Petal Shop at the Richland Mall, and retired as the manager of Walden Books at the Richland Mall. In 1989, after many years of traveling the United states together, Ralph and Wilma made a home in Mulberry, FL. Wilma returned to Ashland in 1997.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ralph A. Magers; sisters, Iva Breiner and Vera Searls; brothers, Delbert and Lester; brothers-in-law Archie Searls, Carl, Dale and Rea Magers; great grandsons, Brock Magers and Preston Fowler and a daughter-in-law Patricia Magers.
She is survived by her four children, Doyle Magers of Willard; Douglas (Pamela) Magers of Ashland, Dee (Bob) Frazier of Baily Lakes and Dan (Cathy) Magers of Bellville. Also surviving are ten grandchildren, Pan (Brian) Awwiller of Shelby; Amanda Magers and Becky Magers of Plymouth; Lori Waters of Mansfield; Troy (Tonya) Magers of Ashland; Traci Magers of Ashland; Erin (Jeremy) Riddle of Butler; Keely (Seth) Mikel of Upland, IN; Chad Balliett of Huron and Ryan (Dawn) Balliett of Norton, OH; 18 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters-in-law, Margaret Magers of Norton, KS; Dorothy Magers of Greeley, CO; and Dee Magers of Norcatur, KS.
Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday October 28, 2017 at the Christ Community Evangelical Free Church, 1272 Co. Rd. 758 Ashland, Ohio where a Memorial Service, with Pastor Michael Futrell officiating, will begin at 11:00 a.m. at the church. A private family burial will take place in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Olivesburg, Ohio.
