Obituary for Polly "Lou" Scott

Polly “Lou” Scott, 86

Polly “Lou” Scott, 86 of Ashland passed away Sunday, October 22, 2017 in the Good Shepherd Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born on December 14, 1930 in Polk to the late Marion “Snyd” and Mary (nee Iceman) Ringler.

Lou was a devoted member of the Savannah United Methodist Church. Throughout her life, she enjoyed sewing. Lou and her friend, Mary Lou Harmon, made several hundred blankets and delivered them to the elderly and ill. She also handmade receiving blankets for babies born at the hospital.

Being a true homemaker, she gardened and canned for her family and friends, and being a civic minded member of a small community, she served as a council member in Baily Lakes for many years.

Lou is survived by her daughter, Terri Reid of Ashland; two sons, David (Dorothy) Scott of Bailey Lakes and Pat Scott of Ashland; six grandchildren, Dan, Jamey, and Kori Reid and Kate, Bob, and Lindsay Scott; and three great grandchildren, Logan Clippinger and Gavin and Summer Dunlap.

In addition to her parents, Polly is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Scott who passed away on July 30, 2002; one sister, Shirley Crawford; and one brother, Sam Ringler.

In keeping with Polly’s wishes, interment will be in the Ashland County Memorial Park.

A memorial service will be Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Savannah United Methodist Church, 10 West Main Street, Savannah, Ohio with Arden Fitch officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Central Ohio, 1050 Dauch Drive, Ashland, Ohio 44805.
