Lanny B. Repp, 79, of Ashland, passed away Friday morning, November 24, 2017 at his residence in Ashland.
Lanny was born October 28, 1938 in Ashland County and was the son of Lloyd and Sybil (Spencer) Repp. He was raised in Ashland and attended school here. He completed college and received his Bachelor in Education degree. He taught at Shreve Jr. High School, before it became part of Tri-Way Schools, and was also the head high school baseball coach and Jr. High Basketball coach. He then taught in the Ashland City School System for a year where he served as an assistant high school basketball coach, then with the New London Schools where he also became an assistant football coach, head basketball coach for the boys and girls team and the head golf coach for the school. His teaching and coaching career spanned over 32 years.
Lanny also attended Trinity Lutheran Church in Ashland.
On December 31, 1962 he was married to Carolyn L. Filak who survives him. He is also survived by two daughters, Connie (Ken) Bailey of Jeromesville and Kimberly (Cliff) Warner of LaGrange, Ohio; four grandchildren, Jeremy, Josh and James (JT) young and Samantha Warner; and one brother, Clark (Sharon) Repp of Ashland.
In keeping with Lanny’s wishes, there will be no public services or calling hours.
