Obituary for Harry Byron Bright

H. Byron Bright, 81 of Ashland, passed away Friday evening at Lifecare Hospice in Wooster, Ohio.

Harry was born in Woodsfield, Ohio on May 5, 1936 and was the son of Harry and Mary (Thomas) Bright.

Harry and his wife Dorothy were lifelong farmers and owned and operated a dairy and grain farm in Orange Township.

He was a member of the Maple Grove Church of the Brethren.

He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in Germany.

Harry was married to Dorothy E. (Keener) on June 22, 1957. She preceded him in death on June 5, 2013.

He is survived by one son, Larry (Shannon Poff) Bright of Ashland, two grandchildren, Terry (Sara Pletz) Bright of Ashland and Robyn (Landon) Weirich of Ashland; four great grandchildren, Kaitlyn Bartish and Braylee, Brayden and Gracie Weirich three sisters, Wilda Paden of West Virginia; Clara Claus of Wooster; and Janet Van Meter of Ashland; five brothers, Paul of Ashland; Richard of Shreve; Donald of Lucas; Ronald of Ashland and David of Woodsfield.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Dorothy E. Bright, one sister, Donna Bright and two brothers, Donald and George Bright.

Private family services will be held Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home with the Rev. John Ballinger officiating. Burial will be in the Nankin Cemetery.

There will be no calling hours. The Ashland Veterans Honor Guard will provide military honors at the cemetery.
