Ruth L. Hayden, 73
Ruth L. Hayden, 73 of Dover, passed away, Friday, December 22, 2017 in Park Village Health Care Center following a period of declining health.
She was born on February 1, 1944 in Dover to the late Alfred G. and Ruth Evelyn (nee Blake) Johnson.
Ruth graduated from Dover High School, Class of 1962. In her earlier years, Ruth took flying lessons that she was so very proud of. She enjoyed baking and cooking, family gatherings and attending Notre Dame sporting events in South Bend, Indiana. Most of all, she loved to travel on motorcycle trips with her longtime companion of 30 years, Leonard “Larry” Zuchegno.
Ruth retired after more than 24 years from Buehler’s Food Market in 2003.
She is survived by her loving sister, Linda (Lee) Miller of Dover; one niece, Malinda Hockenberry of Dover; an aunt, Wilda Thomas of New Martinsville, West Virginia; and numerous cousins and friends.
In addition to her parents, Ruth is preceded in death by her longtime companion, Larry Zuchegno who passed away, April 29, 2012; one brother, Alfred Kenneth Johnson who passed away on December 14, 2010; an infant brother, Charles Eugene Johnson; her paternal grandparents, Charles and Florence Johnson; and her maternal grandparents, David Edward and Clara Blake.
In keeping with Ruth’s wishes an interment service will be Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. in the Dover Burial Park with Pastor William Johnson officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her mother, father, and brother.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Great Lakes Hospice.
