Condolence From: Donna Urchak
Condolence: Pastor Koehler married my husband & me - as he said one time I spoke to him - it stuck! It’s been 50 years since he preformed our ceremony - my husband died in 2011 & I truly miss him. When my father died in 1070 I was so impressed with the way he took care of my mum & all us kids. He was wonderful. No matter what happened he will always be the pastor I’ve had the fondest memories. I’m sure he’s in heaven helping out the newcomers.

Condolence: Pastor Koehler was my boyhood minister at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Moorhead, Iowa. He had a profound impact upon my early faith formation through the power of his preaching, his wonderful baritone voice, his warm pastoral heart, his ability to relate to people of every age, his fun-loving spirit and sense of humor, his huge effervescent smile, and above all, his willingness to share with us his human frailties. As I reflect upon 35 years of ordained ministry as a Lutheran pastor, I am convinced that Pastor Koehler’s ministry during those early years was a means by which the Holy Spirit was calling me to this way in life. I remain deeply grateful for his presence and that of Mary Ann and their children. Pastor's faithful witness to our Lord and the power of His cross and resurrection endures in the hearts and lives of so many of us.

Condolence: Although we moved here from New York state, Hal was always very kind to me and to my children. He always had a kind word for me and was helpful to me as I got to know Trinity and Ashland.

Condolence: Mary Ann and "kids". I first met your dad in the 80's I think. Friends of my parents and he presided over my 2nd marriage. I was happy to continue seeing Hal at my stint at the Times-Gazette.
So sorry for your loss. Hal always had a kind word and a big hug for me.
Holding all of you in my thoughts
Nancy

Condolence: I grew up very close to my cousin, Harold, in Sandusky, Ohio. We spent a number of summers together on North Bass, Island in Lake Erie. We also attended Capital University together. He was always upbeat and looked out for me since I was following his path through school. It was very sad for me to hear of his death and I give heartfelt condolences to his family. I did not know his children very well, but got to know Mary Ann well during our travels back and forth between Capital and Sandusky. I know he is now at peace and is in the heavenly band playing either tuba or the accordian.
