Obituary for James F. "Jim" Imhoff

James F. "Jim" Imhoff, 81

James F. "Jim" Imhoff, 81 of Ashland passed away, Tuesday, January 2, 2018 in University Hospitals Samaritan Medical Center.

Jim was born on July 15, 1936 in Richland County to the late Frank and Ruby (nee Smith) Imhoff.

He graduated from Savannah High School. Jim married the former Carol Freytag on September 4, 1953.

Jim retired after more than 40 years as an electrician with the I.B.E.W. 688 in Mansfield.

He was a member of First Christian Church where he was a trustee and sang in the choir.

Jim was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to many. He loved sports and enjoyed playing and watching softball, golf, fishing and playing in his card club.

He will be remembered fondly by his family as always being able to fix or build anything, including their family home.

Jim is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mrs. Carol Imhoff of Ashland; one daughter, Lynn (David) Reep of Bridgeport, West Virginia; one son, Keith (Stephanie) Imhoff of Granville, Ohio; five grandchildren, Grace and Sarah Imhoff, Jennifer (Geoffrey) Carroll, Elizabeth (Aaron) Charlton, Andrew (Jennifer) Reep; six great grandchildren, Abigail, Isabella, Benjamin, Elias, Johanna, and Olivia; one sister, Mary Lou Harmon; and one sister-in-law, Joyce Imhoff.

In addition to his parents, Jim is preceded in death by three brothers, Ned (Pat), Wayne (Rena) and Paul Imhoff; and a brother-in-law, Voy Harmon.

Funeral services will be held, Monday, January 8, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. in the First Christian Church, 1425 King Road, Ashland, Ohio 44805 with Pastor Rich Pate officiating. Interment will be in the Savannah Cemetery. Friends may call prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the church. A meal and time of fellowship will follow the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Christian Church, 1425 King Road, Ashland, Ohio 44805.
