Obituary for Kermit E. Barnthouse

Kermit E. Barnthouse, 77

Kermit E. Barnthouse, 77 of Ashland, formerly of Rotunda, Florida passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2018 in the University Hospitals Samaritan Medical Center.

He was born on March 23, 1940 in Willard to the late Leroy and Carrie (nee Patrick) Barnthouse.

Kermit was self employed having run east 8th auto for many years.

He was an avid banjo player as bluegrass picker all of his life. Kermit was a member of the Stone Mountain Boys for many years. In his later years, Kermit enjoyed being a Luthier, having made many musical instruments for family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Janet Barnthouse of Ashland; six children, Chris (Richard) Kachadurin, Connie (Jeff) Goon, Candy (Doug) Spaur, Kurt (Michelle) Barnthouse, Cappi Donohue, and Craig (Karen) Barnthouse; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; one sister, Cathy Hawks; and two brothers, Fred and Hager Barnthouse.

In addition to his parents, Kermit is preceded in death by two sisters, Shirley Moser and Mary Deskins.

Funeral services will be held, Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home with Reverend Dr. Butch White officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment will be in the Ashland County Memorial Park.
