Bertina A. Schwartz, 96, of Ashland, passed away Sunday evening, January 14, 2018 at Lutheran Village in Ashland.
Bertina was born in Nova, Ohio on January 31, 1921 to the late Guy and Mabel (Bailey) Kosht. She had been a resident of Ashland County her entire lifetime.
She was a former employee of the Cresco Manufacturing Company working in the sewing department and later as an inspector. She retired at age 62 but continued to do clothing alterations in her home until 2010.
She was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church, the United Gleaners Sunday School Class, United Methodist Women and had served as the chair of the Mission Outreach Board.
Bertina was a very caring and loving person whose greatest joy came from being able to give to others.
On August 7, 1960 she was married to Fred W. Schwartz who preceded her in death on August 16, 1978.
She is survived by her caring friends, Anna & Tod Crumrine of Nova and Ron and Vicki (Ron) Johnson of Ashland, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Monday, January 22, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home with the Rev. Thomas Snyder officiating. Burial will be in the Nova Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Monday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home.
