Joseph R. Puskar, 89
Joseph R. Puskar, 89, of Ashland, passed away Jan. 17, 2018 at home.
He was born in Star Junction, Pa., to John and Anna Puskar on March 8, 1928. He lived most of his life in Cleveland. He graduated from Benedictine High School in 1946. He married Carlotta (Jirus) Puskar on June 4, 1949. He coached all of his sons’ baseball teams in the Shaker Boys League. He was a member of the Ohio Carpenters Union Locals 11, 21 & 435 for 60 1/2 years.
Joseph is survived by his children, Gene Puskar of Pittsburgh, Bob Puskar of Richmond Heights, Betsy Gould of Richmond Heights, Joseph C. Puskar of Akron, Tom E. Puskar and daughter-in-law Heather Beasley of Ashland, and 5 grandsons, 3 granddaughters, a stepgrandson, 7 great-granddaughters and 3 great-grandsons.
Joseph was preceded in death by his wife Carlotta, parents John and Anna Puskar, stepfather Joseph Kuss, brother John Puskar and two infant sons Peter and Paul.
A private burial will be held for family and friends on March 8, 2018 at Knollwood Cemetery in Mayfield Heights.
