Mary T. House, 96

Mary T. House, 96 of Jeromesville passed away, Saturday evening, May 12, 2018 in Lutheran Village.

She was born February 7, 1922 to the late Stephen and Therese (nee Pfeifer) Kirner in Romania.

Mary came to the United States with her parents through Ellis Island in October of 1923 when she was 1 1/2 ; the family would call Cleveland home.

Mary married Moreland J. House on December 30, 1943. She was a homemaker all her life; having raised her five children.

Mary was a devoted member of St. Edward Catholic Church. She was an avid reader throughout her life and Garden Club member in Jeromesville who enjoyed meals and time of fellowship with her friends.

Mary is survived by her three daughters, Diane (Richard) Cumming of Columbus, Pamela (Ronald) Storm of Columbus, and Linda (Thorne) Nethero of Jeromesville; two sons, Jim (Janet) House of Jeromesville and John House of Sterling Heights, Michigan; 12 grandchildren, Alicia (Mark) Hartsell, Julia and Lydia Cumming, Laurie (Alex) Pomerants, Debbie (Jeremy) Gillman, Alison (Jonny) Podell, Clue (Alicia) Nethero, Clint (Jessica) Nethero, Sarah (Brice) Wiltrout, Joe (Amanda) House, and Andrew and Alexis House; 17 great grandchildren; and one sister, Rose Baum of Menifee, California.

In addition to her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Moreland J. House who passed away May 16, 1999; one brother, Stephen Kirner; and one sister, Elizabeth Tupta.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held, Friday, May 18, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the St. Edward Catholic Church, 501 Cottage Street, Ashland, Ohio 44805 with Reverend Father Rod Kreidler officiating. Following the service a luncheon with be served in the parish activity center. Interment will be in the Jeromesville Cemetery after the meal. Friends may call Thursday, May 17, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Edward Catholic Church, 501 Cottage Street, Ashland, Ohio 44805 or to a charity of the donor’s choice in Mary’s name.
