Ray E. Edwards

Ray E. Edwards, 64, of Ashland, passed away Sunday morning, July 8, 2018 at his residence in Ashland.

H e was born in Ashland on December 5, 1953 and was the son of Floyd and Catherine (Bowersock) Edwards. Ray had been a resident of the Ashland area all of his life. He attended Mapleton Schools and was a member of the class of 1972.

Ray had worked in the Molding Department of U-Brand Corp, for Ashland Vault Co., Jan Thomas & Son Trucking and had drilled water wells for Johnson Hardware in Wayne County.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, flea markets, country music but mostly spending time with his family.

On August 29, 1986 Ray married Kathy Kidwell who survives him. He is also survived by three children, Jamie (Beth) Edwards of Gainesville, TX; Matthew Kidwell and Aubrey D. Edwards both of Ashland; two grandchildren, Austin and Savannah Edwards of Gainesville, TX; one brother, Lawrence “Bud” (Cathy) Edwards of Ashland; his mother-in-law, Joyce Johnson of Loudonville and a sister-in-law, Sheryl Edwards of Ashland.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Mary Weese; three brothers, Clarence, Daniel and David Edwards and his father-in-law, Westley Kidwell.

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 13, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home with the Rev. Scot Myers officiating. Burial will be in the Nankin Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the services at 1:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions, in Mr. Edwards memory, may be made to the family to help with the final expenses.
