Charlotte L. Holmes, 74 of Ashland passed away, Monday, July 23, 2018 in the Good Shepherd Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born on October 25, 1943 to the late Ray and Stella (nee Mercer) Williams in Orrville.
Charlotte graduated from Orrville High School, Class of 1961. She went on to earn an Associates Degree from North Central State College in Respiratory Therapy.
She married the love of her life, James L. Holmes on July 24, 1965. Together the couple would call Ashland there home sharing together 45 wonderful years. She retired from Mansfield General Hospital after more than 15 years as a Respiratory Therapists.
Charlotte was a devoted member of the Trinity Lutheran Church where she served as church secretary for many years.
She was a collector of many things throughout her life. Charlotte was an aspiring writer who loved the outdoors and nature.
She is survived by two daughters, Michelle (Robert) Banda of Leland, North Carolina and Wendy (Jeff) Vernon of Plain City, OH; one son, James L. (Wendy) Holmes Jr. of Perrysville; ten grandchildren, Hershel Holmes, Mary Cronebach, Rebecca Butler, Caroline Banda, Brett Banda, Megan Vernon, Kelley Vernon, Sharon Vernon, Jacob Vernon, and Jaclyn Vernon; four great grandchildren; and two sisters, Carolyn (Bill) Brussman of Vandalia and Delores (Les) Beyler of Navarre.
In addition to her parents, Charlotte was preceded in death by her loving husband, James L. Holmes on June 2, 2010.
Friends may call Friday, July 27, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home. Following visitation, a meal and time of fellowship will be held in the Legacy Room at the funeral home. Interment will be private in the Ashland Cemetery.
