Obituary for Louise M. Etzwiler

Louise M. Etzwiler, 88

Louise M. Etzwiler, 88 of Ashland passed away, Thursday evening, September 27, 2018 in University Hospitals Samaritan Medical Center.

She was born February 12, 1930 in Ashland to the late, Clayton Henry and Mae Irene (nee Sprang) Swainhart.
Louise graduated from Loudonville High School, Class of 1948. She married Kenneth Etzwiler on September 23, 1967.
Louise retired in 1993 after more than 20 years of service to the Ashland County Sheriff’s Department where she was secretary and a civil clerk.

She was a former member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Loudonville. Along with her husband, Louise raised dogs in her earlier years. Throughout her life, Louise has enjoyed the outdoors and wildlife, but most of all spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Kenneth Etzwiler of Ashland; one daughter, Candice Cranmore of Tiffin; two sons, Kim (Cathy) Johnston of Phoenix, Arizona and Kirk (Mindy) Johnston of Ashland; four grandchildren, Jamie (Rick) Brightbill of Ashland, Stacey Cranmore of Georgia, Jeff Johnston of Phoenix, Arizona and Kari (Chad) Emmons of Ashland; six great grandchildren, Morgan Cranmore, Carter and Clair Brightbill, and Hayes, Lyla, and Reed Emmons; one sister, Beverly Richardson of Loudonville; and one brother, Ted (Patty) Swainhart of Perrysville.

In addition to her parents, Louise is preceded in death by one granddaughter, Jody Cranmore; two sisters, Norma Paullin and Carol Waddell; one brother, Roger Swainhart; and a son-in-law, Dan Cranmore.

Funeral services will be held, Monday, October 1 , 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home with Reverend Eric Riesen officiating. Interment will follow in the Miller Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Associated Charities, 240 Cleveland Avenue, Ashland, Ohio 44805 or to the Ashland County Humane Society, 1710 Garfield Avenue, Ashland, Ohio 44805.
