Carolyn R. Lowe
1927-2018

Carolyn Ruth Lowe, 90 of Ashland passed away Saturday, September 29, 2018 in her home at Belmont Tower of Brethren Care Village.

She was born on November 17, 1927 in Tuscarawas County, the daughter of the late George and Ruth (nee Blair) Kreis.
Carolyn graduated from Savannah High School in 1945. Following her graduation, she earned a degree in nursing in 1948 from Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing. She enjoyed a fulfilling career as a registered nurse at Samaritan Hospital; a private duty nurse; and a nurse at Medical Associates from 1972 to her retirement in 1984.

Carolyn married Donald E. Lowe on August 15, 1948.

She was a devoted member of the First United Methodist Church.

Carolyn is survived by her two daughters, Pat (Phil) Bush of Ashland and Jan (Rick) Gleim of Dublin; one son, Steve (Cindy) Lowe of Mainesville; nine grandchildren; Jill (Rob) Hartson, Laura (Brian) Stier, Kevin (Carla) Bush, Kyle (Michelle) Bush, Andrew Gleim, Kristin Gleim (fiancé Jeremy Jenkins), Adam (Ashley) Gleim, Greg (Jessica) Lowe, and Juli Lowe (Matt Gehring); twelve great-grandchildren; Ryan, Sara, and Jenna Hartson, Elizabeth and Caleb Stier, Emma and Ella Bush, Katie Bush, Bridget and Nathaniel Gleim, and Colin and Elise Lowe; her sister-in-law, Diane Kreis; two step grandchildren, Nick (Kat) Southam-Fay and Darren (Hannah) Fay; two step-great grandchildren, Claudia and Ellie Fay; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Carolyn is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Donald Lowe on January 6, 2005; a sister, Eileen Harper; and five brothers: Elmer, Don, Ward, Wayne and Dick Kreis.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 4, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 220 Sandusky Street, Ashland, Ohio 44805 with Reverend Tom Snyder officiating. Interment will follow in the Ashland Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday, October 3, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home.
