Linda Mae Hennen, 73

Linda Mae Hennen, 73 of Ashland passed away, Tuesday afternoon, October 9, 2018 in her home with her family by her side.
She was born on June 5, 1945 to the late Ellsworth E. “Bud” and L. Jean (nee Freytag) Murch in Ashland.

Linda graduated from Ashland High School, Class of 1963. She married the love of her life, Pete “Paul” Hennen on June 5, 1965.

She along with her mother Jean, started a clothing bank in Ashland in the early 1960’s and continued the project until the early 1990’s. Together they knitted hats and gloves for local churches and schools until the mid 1980’s.
Linda and her husband, Pete raised mastiff dogs for more than 20 years until 2006. She was an Ashland County Humane Officer and assisted the dog warden from 2001 to 2003.

Linda was a devoted member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Pete Hennen of Ashland; one daughter, Betsy (Randy) Strine of Perrysville; one son, Patrick (Elizabeth) Hennen of Mansfield; and four grandchildren.

Linda is preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be held, Friday, October 12, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. in the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home with Pastor Keith Winn officiating. Interment will follow in the Ashland Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ashland County Humane Society, 1710 Garfield Avenue, Ashland, Ohio 44805.
