Obituary for Fred C. Searl
Fred C. Searl, 92, of Ashland, went home to be with his Lord and loving family, on Sunday October 21, 2018.
Fred Was born April 2, 1926 to Fred C. and Mae Flossie (Landis) Searl in New London, Ohio. He grew up in the New London, Sullivan and Savannah area, moving to Ashland after retirement.
He worded at E. Biglow Tile Yard for 25 years, Troxel Farm, Copper weld (now Arcelormittal) for 25 years, the village of Savannah for 1 year and retired from Shearer Implement after 15 years of service, when he was 80 years old. He enjoyed woodworking, traveling, socializing, gardening and working in his yard.
He was devoted member of the First Baptist Church in New London where he served as a deacon and sang in the church choir and was a former member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Savannah for over 50 years where he also served as a deacon. He was a member of a quartet group for 11 years and enjoyed sharing Jesus Christ with many.
He leaves behind sons Tom (Kristen) Searl of Adario, Dean (Becky) Searl of Ashland, Keith (Robin) Searl of Savannah, son-in-law, Jim Bauckman and daughter-in-law Nancy Searl; 12 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.
On December 4, 1948 he was married to Naomi (Gott), a union which would last 66 years before she preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by one son Bruce Searl, a daughter, Cindy Bauckman, an infant daughter Debbie Searl, a brother, Harvey Searl and sisters, Ethel and Harriett.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 25, 2018 at the First Baptist Church in New London with Pastor Dan Moore officiating. Burial will be in the Ashland County Memorial Park. Friends may call on Wednesday October 24, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home 313 Center St. Ashland, Ohio and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the First Baptist Church in New London.
