Obituary for Roger Allen Crossen

Roger A. Crossen, 63 of Polk, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at his daughter’s residence.

He was born in Ashland, Ohio on March 2, 1955 the son of Robert R. and Dorothy N. (Tarr) Crossen. He had been a resident of Ashland County his entire life. He was a graduate of Mapleton High School class of 1973.

He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during the Vietnam Era and after his active duty service he transferred to the Naval Reserves for 16 years.

Roger had worked at the Timken Company (Ashland Precision Tooling) for 23 years and retired as a CNC Operator at Ariel Corporation in Mt. Vernon, Ohio in 2017.

Roger was a former member of the Polk United Methodist Church and had also attended the Nova United Methodist Church and the First United Methodist Church in Ashland. He was also a past member of the Wellington Eagles Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, mushroom hunting, bowling, playing euchre, and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He had also coached the Ruggles-Troy girls softball team, and liked playing jokes on people and hanging out at the Polk Store.

He is survived by his daughters, Kerry (Mike) Reisinger of Nova and Breanne Crossen of Ashland; four grandchildren, Paige Reisinger, Taylor DeLosh, Emily Reisinger and Ethan Reisinger; his mother, Dorothy Crossen of Polk; a sister, Rhonda Moore of Ashland and a brother, Chris (Kathy) Crossen of Jeromesville and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert R. Crossen on February 15, 2009.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 10, 2018 at 1:15 p.m. at the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home. Burial with full military honors Provided by the Ashland Veterans Honor Guard will be in the Ashland County Memorial Park.

Friends may call on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:15 p.m. The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to the Ashland Dog Shelter, 1710 Garfield Ave. Ashland, Ohio 44805.
