Obituary for Teddy Robert ""Ted"" Fleming

Teddy R. “Ted” Fleming, 80, of Ashland, passed away Tuesday morning, November 13, 2018 at his residence following a long illness.
He was born in Shamrock, Logan County, West Virginia the son of the late George and Frances (Bean) Fleming. He has been a resident of the Ashland area for the past 21 years. He had previously lived in Cleveland and Portsmouth, Ohio.
Ted had worked as a crane operator at LTV Steel in Cleveland for 28 years before retiring. He had previously worked as a route salesman for Coca-Cola Company in Portsmouth, Ohio.
He was a veteran of the United States Air Force.
He enjoyed doing many things, fishing, camping, playing the guitar and singing, doing crossword puzzles in the times Gazette, being on Facebook and Flight Simulator on the computer, listening to country music, telling jokes and one-liners, sight-seeing and just taking off on a journey and getting lost.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Constance L. (Craft) who he married on January 22, 1961. Also surviving are three sons, Robert (Beth) Fleming of Sullivan and their children, Robert F. (Heather) Fleming and Leann M. Fleming; Ronald (Amelita) Fleming and their children, Dana M. Fleming, Nicholas Fleming, Tyler Fleming, Paris Ann Fleming , Clayton Fleming and Twienzy SanAntonio; David “Andy” (Michelle) Fleming and their son, Robert D. Shumaker. He is also survived by 14 great grandchildren, a sister, Beulah (Gerald) Jarrels of Portsmouth, OH; and special friends, Randell Meadows, Les & Toy Neel and the entire Davis family of Portsmouth, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother-in-law, Bill Craft and a family friend, Jerry Davis.
In keeping with Ted’s wishes there will be no calling hours or funeral services. A private family memorial service will take place at a later date.
The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home 313 Center St. Ashland, Ohio 44805 to help defray the expenses.
