Condolence: We were very sorry to read the sad news about Guy. I went to Ashland College when Guy did, and knew him as a good friend with a great sense of humor. Over the years we saw each other occasionally, always glad for the chance meeting. Most recently we talked at the calling hours for our mutual friend Shine Zody, not knowing it was to b the last time we would see each other. Our sympathies to Guy's family. May the recalling of his good and worthwhile life be of great comfort to you.

Condolence: Guy was one of the best at AU! He was truly my mentor as I was literally placed at an awkwardly added desk within his office to be trained by him! I observed a man who loved AU and loved sharing that love with others. While methodical in his approach, he was a master at genuinely extending the Accent on the Individual to every prospective student and family. And boy was he loved by guidance counselors across the state and region!
Guy became a bit of a father figure to me, as he encouraged me as a professional and eventually as a parent and even grandparent. Hundreds of memories of him telling stories, standing up for the things he believed in, and, of course, laughing till he cried—which never took very long! Thank you, Guy. I cherish every memory.

Condolence: Guy always had a smile and positive attitude when we went to court. He was a great person to work with and a great friend. We also liked his friendship through the Shriners.
Sorry for your loss.

Condolence: Guy was a good friend and a thoughtful mentor to new admissions staff. He had a veteran's instinct for the tips we'd need to be successful and enjoy the profession. His sense of humor and deep affection for Ashland (then) College were infectious. He adored his family and delighted in sharing their stories. With sincere sympathy.

Condolence: Your mom and dad were such wonderful friends of my parents Bob and Barbara Roland. I remember spending sunny summer afternoons around my parents swimming pool with your parents. Your mom was my mentor teacher years ago when I did my student teaching. My prayers are with all of you. Anne Dorn

Condolence: Guy Krueger was good & decent to the core. Working with him early in my career was a joy and honor. I never met anyone who didn't like Guy-it just wasn't possible. He literally recruited and counseled thousands of Ashland students and their families, he cared about each and every one of them.
RIP my friend and God be with you.

Condolence: Guy was a true gentleman, hardworking, sincere, funny and most importantly, committed to his family and Ashland College/University. He connected with prospective students, their families and colleagues at both public and private institutions on a level where he gained respect from constituents in Ohio and other states. Anyone who came in contact with Guy was impressed because of his sincere interest in helping students through the admission process. It is impossible to say how many students Guy managed to influence during his tenure but it would be an overwhelming number.
Guy was the consummate professional and I am proud to have known him during my time at Ashland. He was a positive influence because of his experience, attitude and willingness to share his expertise with staff which made them better recruiters.
Unfortunately, they don't make them like Guy anymore and he will be sorely missed.
Love the GUY!
