Obituary for M. Dawayne Fawcett

M. Dawayne Fawcett, 68

M. Dawayne Fawcett, 68 of Ashland passed away early Monday morning, December 17, 2018 in University Hospitals Samaritan Medical Center.

He was born on December 3, 1950 in Riverside, California, the son of Melton and Iola (nee Edwards) Fawcett.

Dawayne graduated from Beaumont High School, Beaumont Ca., Class of 1968. He married the former Debra J. Caley on February 7, 1983.

Well known as the Street Sweeper, he retired after 33 years of service with the City of Ashland. Throughout his life, he enjoyed fishing, especially catfish, boating on Charles Mill Lake, and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. Dawayne also loved his dogs.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Debra J. Fawcett of Ashland; his mother, Iola Fawcett of Ashland; one daughter, Amy (Don) Horn of San Diego; two sons, Larry (Katie) Fawcett of San Diego and Cory (Tammy) Fawcett of Ashland; ten grandchildren; four great grandchildren; one brother, Mike (Libby) Fawcett of Wasilla, Alaska, a brother-in-law, Ralph Smith of Columbus; and two sisters-in-law, Bev (Faith) Caley of Oregon and Carol (Mike) Foster of Elyria.

Dawayne is preceded in death by his father, Melton Fawcett; one son, Jason Fawcett in 1990; a sister-in-law, Barb Smith; and his father and mother-in-law, Thomas and Norma Jean Caley.

Interment will be private for the family in the Shenandoah Cemetery. No other services will be observed.
