Obituary for Janice Ann Allen

Janice A. Allen, 92

ASHLAND – Janice Ann (Fulton) Allen died of natural causes on January 21, 2019, at the Martin House in Ashland, Ohio.

She was born May 23, 1926 to parents Clayton and Beatrice (Kratzer) Fulton in Wadsworth, OH, and graduated from Seville High School in 1944. She married Richard Harold Allen on November 28, 1946 in Seville. He preceded her in death, February 4, 1998. In addition to her husband, Janice was preceded in death by her parents and beloved brother Gene.

Janice was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and before that the Acme Lutheran Church. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. True to an upbringing on the family farm she never lost her passion for watching things grow and enjoyed preparing, preserving, and serving fresh fruits and vegetables. In particular, the children and grandchildren looked forward to multiple batches of homemade applesauce every fall. She also had a special talent for fine embroidery and all who knew her were gifted with various pieces that will become more cherished as time passes.

Janice is survived by her loving sister Linda Corp (Ray), a daughter, Jody Krinov (Tom), and three sons, Greg (Jan), Mark, and Chris (Linda). She is also survived by six granddaughters, two grandsons, two great grandsons, two great granddaughters, nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11AM on Saturday, February 2, 2019, at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 508 Center Street, Ashland with Reverend Michael Koch officiating. Friends may visit with family at the church one hour prior to the service. A lunch at the church will follow. A private service for immediate family at the gravesite will be scheduled at a later date.

Janice supported many charitable organizations over the years and had great empathy for others less fortunate. It would have delighted her to know all would support a charity of their choice in lieu of flowers.

For those who may not be able to attend, online condolences may be shared on the funeral home’s website at denbowfh.com.
