Obituary for Louise Molly Beattie (Fluke)

Louise Fluke Brownson Conery Beattie

Louise was born May 26, 1924 in Nankin, the daughter of Eugene P. Fluke and Mary Swan Fluke.

She graduated from Ashland High School in the class of 1942 and attended The University of Akron in 1972. She was employed in several physicians’ offices in the Ashland area over the years and retired from the Registrar’s office at Ashland University in 1986. She was a ten-year volunteer of Hospice of North Central Ohio and an active member of Christ Community Evangelical Free Church, Ashland, Ohio. Louise enjoyed water-color painting, reading, and time spent creating greeting cards and writing on her computer.

On Oct, 16, 1943 Louise married Robert W. Brownson who preceded her in death Oct. 17, 1975. In August 2,1986 she married W. J.(Jim) Conery who died March 18, 1996. Louise married William Beattie, Feb. 19, 2001, deceased, Sept. 26, 2010.

Four of Louise’s five children survive: One son Robert E. (Gini) Brownson of Ashland and three daughters, Ann (Larry) Keiffer of Walnut Creek, CA., Tina (Rick) McFrederick and Molly(Glenn) Smith both of Ashland. Her son, Frank Brownson, preceded her in death on March 15, 2004.

Louise is also survived by two sisters, Emeline Fulmer of Canton, OH and Helen Helvenston of Ocala, FL. She was preceded in death by her sister, Elinor Martin, on April 10, 2007 and her brother Donald Fluke on April 6, 2018.

Louise is grandmother of fifteen and great-grandmother of forty-nine. She is also survived by seven stepchildren, Leonard (Allyn) Conery, Barbara (Bob) Utterback, John (Kathy) Conery, James (Becky) Beattie, Sandy (Ted) Turk, Linda Knee and Donald (Dreama) Beattie, along with many step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held for Louise at Christ Community Evangelical Free Church, 1272 County Road 758, Ashland, OH 44805 on Saturday, March 16. Gathering and visiting time begins at 10A.M., followed by the service at 11A.M.

It is suggested that memorial gifts may be given to Christ Community Evangelical Free Church, or to Pathways Hospice, 1171 E. Main Street, Ashland, OH 44805.
