Obituary for Janet K. Leiter (Solocious)
Janet K. Leiter, 67, of Ashland, passed away Tueday afternoon, April 16, 2019 at her residence.
She was born November 11, 1951 in Waterbury, Conn. and was the daughter of Robert and Dorothy (Volpe) Solocious. She had been a resident of the Ashland area since 1978.
Janet had worked at the former Monte B’s and the Lounge in Ashland for many years.
She enjoyed crafting and had a booth at the Ashland County Fair along with attending shows at the local high schools and enjoyed listening to music.
Janet was married to John Leiter on December 29, 2006. He preceded her on death in on May 1, 2015.
She is survived by her children and grandchildren; daughter, Melanie (Aaron) Spies of Mansfield and their children, Mason, Roza, Trenton and Nina Spies; two sons, Darrell Kirby of Mansfield and Kyle Kirby of Columbus; two step daughters, Tiffany (Josh) Campbell of Ashland and their children, Trenton and Addilyn Campbell and Trevor Jackenheimer; Amber (Chris) Leiter-Anderson of Ashland and their children, Gavin Harper, Isabella, Chris and Camdon Anderson; a step son, Jeremy (Kristina) Leiter of Ashland and their children, Jocelyn, Daisy and John Leiter and two sisters, her twin, Laurie Pail of Wake Forest, NC and Marge (Ron) Galla of Strongsville, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John Leiter and a sister Robin Caraffi.
A Memorial Service will be held on May 11, 2019 at the Waite Funeral Home, St. Rt. 303, Brunswick, Ohio, with prayers beginning at 12:00 noon with a reception to follow until 2:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life Service will also be held in Ashland on May 17, 2019 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Mitchell’s Orchard.
The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart and Lung Assoc.
