Sara Ellen Fenton, 90
Sara Ellen Fenton, 90 of Ashland was unexpected called home by her Lord and reunited with her late husband Pete on Tuesday, September 1, 2015.
Mrs. Fenton, of Lutheran Village in Ashland, had lived in the Shelby and Ashland areas since 1944. She was born on January 24, 1925 in New Philadelphia, Ohio. Sara was the child of George and Sarah Murphy Bell. She graduated from Columbus Business School following her prep schooling at New Philadelphia High School.
She married Waldo “Pete” Fenton in 1944.
Sara was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Ashland. She served many years as a Bus Driver for the Crestview School System. She also worked at Cardinal Vending of Mansfield and several law offices in Mansfield.
Sara enjoyed traveling and playing cards with friends and family. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who will be missed.
She is survived by her children, Larry (Linda) Fenton of Butler and Patti (Roger) Irvin of Ashland; five grandchildren, Robert (Susan) Bean, Ryen (Christine) Bean, Shawn (Sharon) Fenton, Amy (Paul) Kennedy, and Tadd Irvin; three step great-grandchildren, Jason, Christopher, and Sara; and six great-grandchildren, Christopher, Courtney, Amanda, Jack, Rachel, and Owen.
Sara was preceded in death by her parents, husband Pete, and her daughter and son-in-law Sarah and Robert Bean.
A service celebrating Sara’s life will be held, Friday, September 4, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in the Peace Lutheran Church, 1360 Smith Road, Ashland, OH 44805 with Reverend Karen Liddy officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Following the service a meal and time of fellowship will be served at the church. Interment will be in the Mansfield Memorial Park following the meal.
