Janet L. Grabill, 83 of Ashland, passed away Sunday afternoon, September 6, 2015 at Lutheran Village following a long illness.
Janet was born in Ashland on March 3, 1934 to the late John and Carrie (nee Williams) Farver, and has been a resident of the area all of her life and was a homemaker.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, served on the Alter Guild and was a member of a Wednesday afternoon Bible Study group.
Janet was family oriented and enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and siblings. She also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, reading, traveling, doing crafts and watching the Cleveland Cavilers.
On November 8, 1953 Janet married the love of her life, Roy Samuel Grabill and shared over 50 years together before Roy passed away on October 27, 2004.
She is survived by one daughter, Lisa Grabill (Michael) Skok of Ashland, four grandchildren, Elizabeth Grabill of Columbus, Matthew (Kaitlyn) Grabill of Huron, Taylor Thomas of Ashland and Michael Skok Jr. of Ashland; three great grandchildren, Trenton Petty, Andre Lee and Michael Grabill; two sisters, Rita Roper of Ashland; Rose Marie Imhoff of Lucas and one brother, Bill (Linda) Farver of Ashland and several nieces and nephews.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Roy Samuel Grabill and two sons, John Grabill on July 11, 2011 and Michael S. Grabill on January 30, 2015.
A memorial service will be held Thursday September 10, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Friends Church, 508 Center St. Ashland with the Rev. Michael Koch officiating. may visit with the family on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 from 4-7 p.m. at the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home, 313 Center St. in Ashland. The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Central Ohio, 1050 Dauch Dr. Ashland, Ohio 44805 or to The Ashland County Cancer Association, 380 East Fourth St, Ashland, Ohio 44805.
