Condolences

Condolence From: Anne Gates Miller
Condolence: Betty has been my best friend since we were teenagers growing up in Ashland in the 1930's. We shared a love for education and history. I'll miss her very much. Because of my own health issues, I may not be able to come the the service on Wednesday. I have many remembrances and photos of Betty over the years. I can be reached at 607-353-7127

Condolence: Both Betty and Bud were longtime friends. Betty's interest in Ashland, its people and its buildings was and should continue to be greatly appreciated. When the Times-Gazette received letters from out of state inquiring about Ashland historical matters, it was invariably Betty who volunteered to answer. She'll be greatly missed.

Condolence: I am so sorry to hear of Betty's passing. I was so blessed to be able to get to know Betty better while help staying with her at nights. Her and I became really good friends and she was like a grandma to me. I will miss her so much! We talked all the time and I had just talked to her Monday evening. But with everything she was going through, she would always ask about me and my family. She was so caring and Heaven sure gained a beautiful women! I feel so blessed for God putting Betty in my life!

Condolence: Ashland's "Historian" has been called to join her beloved "Bud". I think they were Ashland's best known and most loved couple in recent memory. Betty has kept the history of Ashland alive for future generations!
May God be with the family at this time.

Condolence From: Jan and Mimi Slater
Condolence: It is with an emptiness in our hearts as we grieve the loss of Betty Plank. When people speak of Ashland, Betty and Bud Plank are synonymous with this community.
Betty's family and our mother's family moved to Ashland at the same time. Both entered Ashland High School their junior year and became life-long friends.Along their wonderful friendship journey, they met their loving husbands who were both playing sports at Ashland College and became life-long friends as well. The Planks were always supporting, loving and caring to all of us.
Their generous, kind hearts touched the lives of so many people. The way they lived their lives was such a positive influence for all generations. Betty and Bud loved one another, deeply cared for others, and truly loved Ashland.
They'll be forever in our hearts as we know they are in a wonderful place together once again.
We love you,Betty.God Bless you and may He hold you peacefully in the palms of His hands.
Jan and Mimi and all the Slaters

Condolence: The African saying "When an old man dies, a library burns to the ground" couldn't be more fitting regarding the passing of Betty Plank (other than putting a "wo" in front of man. Betty, you sparked my interest in Ashland History and for that I will always be grateful. I will celebrate your life as I mourn the loss. Rest in peace dear one.
