Harriet I. Lange, 88
Harriet I. Lange, 88 of Ashland, passed from this life, surrounded by her loving family, and entered Heaven and into the arms of her savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday December 23, 2016 following a short illness.

She was born in Sullivan Ohio on August 1, 1928 to Lawrence Victor and Vera Marguerite (nee Park) Johnson. She was a graduate of Ashland High School class of 1946.
Harriet was a strong woman with a brave and adventurist spirit.

She was an office manager and medical secretary/Transcriptionist for hospitals and doctors including, Samaritan Hospital in Ashland, Mesa Memorial Hospital in Grand Junction, CO, for Dr. Jack Starkey Sr., in Ashland and Dr. Jamie J. Palacios in Ashland from which she retired in 1997. In the mid 1970’s she even managed a hotel in Norwood, Colorado for a couple of years.

She was a member of the Medical Transcriptionist Association of America. She loved to read and enjoyed doing crossword and word search puzzles. She loved to sew and had made many of her own clothes during her lifetime. She loved to listen to Chet Adkins and also enjoyed listening to piano music. But she was best known for her cookie making, especially her chocolate chip and her sugar cookies.

Harriet survived a terrible accident by a fire when she was a child and was told she would never have children or live a long life. She survived many operations and trials of pain and suffering during her childhood years and her acceptance of Jesus Christ saw her through her trials. She would marry and be blessed with two sons to love and care for.

She is survived by her sons, David K. (Lisa) Lange of North Canton, Ohio and Denis K. (Barbie) Lange of Ashland; five grandchildren, Jessica Nicole Lange, Amber Grimes, Jamison Tobias, Michael (Nuvola) Tobias and Anthony (Kristen) Tobias, and four great-grandchildren, Cloyd, Grace, Oliver, and Xander Tobias. Also surviving is one sister, Joan (Harley) Knowlton of Ashland and two brothers, Ronald (Dorothy) Johnson of Pepper Pike, Ohio and Robert (Donna) Johnson of Ocoee, FL.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a granddaughter, Chelsy Renea Lange, her sisters, Pauline Ropp, Clarice Johnson and Leona Stoll and brothers, Gerald, Kenneth, Charles and Walter Johnson.

Harriet’s family would like to thank all of the caregivers at Brethren Care Village for the blessed care that was given to Harriet during her stay there.
