Karen Lynn Collins, 49
Karen Lynn Collins (nee Burford), 49 passed away Friday, January 20th at Cleveland Clinic following a short illness.
She was born May 2nd, 1967 to Clay V. Burford Jr. and Nancy L. Burford (nee Boyer) in Ashland.
Karen was a fiery, independent soul with a wry sense of humor who enjoyed communing with nature and seeking spiritual enlightenment. She loved to sing and was a past member of the Ashland Community Chorus. Karen enjoyed adventurous cooking and was an avid reader and herb gardener.
She held various jobs in her life, but never let work define her. Karen was adamant that there were more important pursuits and better ways to spend her time.
She is survived by her daughter Rebekah Hershiser and son-in-law Jason Hershiser of Massillon, two sisters, Mary Flury and Jennifer Burford, both of Ashland, her ex-husband Jack E. Collins III of Virginia and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Karen was preceded in death by her mother and grandparents.
A memorial service will be held, Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. in the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home with Reverend David Cooksey officiating. Friends may call two hours prior to the service from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
