L. Roger Freelon, 75
1941-2017
L. Roger Freelon, 75, of Wooster, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, March 3, 2017 at Aultman Canton Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
Roger was born July 21, 1941, in Graysville, Ohio, to George Thomas and Edna Virginia (Knife) Freelon.
He graduated from Ashland high School in 1959. He worked at Culligan and Hyco in Ashland, and retired from Whirlaway in Wellington.
On December 16, 1995, Roger married Carolyn (Mazzella) Sadler in a private home ceremony.
Roger enjoyed hunting and fishing with family and friends. He also enjoyed attending the sporting events of his children and grandchildren.
Roger is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Carolyn Freelon, of Wooster; daughters, Becky (Paul) Blair of Ashland, Debby (Mark) Dever of Nankin, and Cathy Freelon on Nankin; son, Mike (Missy) Freelon of Ashland; stepson Mike (Amy) Sadler of Canton; stepdaughter Julie (Seth) Grimes of Powell; 7 grandchildren, Russell Huffman, Bryan Pickering, Justin (Carrie) Blair, Jamie (Sam) Dawley, Jordan Blair, Chelsea Maslanka, and Dakota (Dreama) Freelon; 3 step-grandchildren, Emily and Will Sadler and Alex Grimes; and 6 great-grandchildren, Amilyn Lindecamp, Tenley Blair, Brody Blair, Griffin Blair, Aaron Dawley, and Beau Dawley; sisters, Betty Freelon of Ashland and Karen (Jay) Ward of Bellville; sister-in-law Karen Freelon of Jeromesville; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, G. Thomas and J. Robert Freelon.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 on, Tuesday, March 7, 2017 or from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday March 8, 2017 at the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home, 313 Center Street, Ashland, Ohio. The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday March 8, 2017 at the funeral home with Pastor Tom Zuercher officiating. Burial will be in the Nankin Cemetery.
