Betty J. Gongwer, 84

Betty J. Gongwer, of Ashland, formerly of Twinsburg, passed away Monday, July 03, 2017 in Crystal Care.

She was born October 30, 1932 to the late Alva and Gladys (nee Schuck) Chance in Jeromesville.

She is survived by her brother, Jerry (Bev) Chance of Ashland, son, Michael (Amy) Gongwer of North Olmsted; many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her first husband, Eldred Risser, second husband, Clayton Gongwer Jr., and sons Patrick and Richard Risser.

A graveside service will be held, Friday, July 7, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Ashland Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday, July 6, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home, 313 Center Street, Ashland, Ohio 44805.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, Northwest Ohio Chapter, 2131 Park Avenue West, Suite 123, Ontario, OH 44906.
