Obituary for Michael Paul White

Michael Paul  White
Michael Paul White, 54, of Savannah, passed away unexpected Friday afternoon, July 21, 2017 at Ohio Health Mansfield Hospital.

Michael was born in Ashland, Ohio on August 4, 1962 and was the son of Paul E. and Jean (Clinker) White. He had been an Ashland County resident for most of his life. He was a 1980 graduate of Crestview High School and the recipient of the Billy Mitchel Award for Civil Air Patrol. Following his graduation Mike enlisted in the Air Force.

He was a graduate of NCTC with a Bachelor degree in Criminal Justice. He went through the Police Academy and went to work as a Park Ranger with Charles Mill Park. He then decided to go into the medical field and took Paramedic classes and worked for Mansfield Ambulance. He enjoyed helping people and returned to school and received his Nursing Degree from Mansfield Nursing School and New York Regents College. He furthered his education at Ashland University and received a Pre-Med and Bachelor Degree in Science.

Michael was a Registered Nurse and worked in Columbus at Children’s Hospital in the Children’s Home Care division and later in the Emergency Room at Children Hospital, Grant Hospital and as the team nurse for Sioto Prison.

More recently Mike was admitted to Crystal Care in Ashland. He needed something to fulfill his time so he went on line and took classes and received his pastoral degree.

Mike was a member of the Savannah United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his mother, Jean White and her partner Sidney Murray; His aunts and uncles, Bob & Dorothy White, Dwaine & Liz Clinker, Danny & Yvonnie Clinker, Joann Prats and numerous cousins and family members.
He was preceded in death by his father Paul E. White and by his wife and infant daughter.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home with the Rev. Johnnie F. Swan and Chaplain Mel Hobson officiating. Burial, with full military honors will be in the Ashland County Memorial Park. Friends may call on Monday, July 24, 2017 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home.

The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church of Savannah, 10 W. Main St., Ashland, Ohio 44805 or to the Savannah Volunteer Fire Company, 6 Haney Rd. Savannah, Ohio 44874.
