Terry P. Barr, 63, of Ashland, passed away Thursday afternoon, October 12, 2017 at his residence in Ashland.
He was born in Ashland on March 15, 1954 and was the son of Roy C. and Aileen F. (Garden) Barr. He was a graduate of Mapleton High School class of 1973. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the close of the Vietnam War being discharged in the Mid 1970’s.
Terry worked as a heavy equipment mechanic and had worked for several different companies across the United States in his career.
He was a devoted family man and looked forward to spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his children, Jeremy (Amy) Barr and their daughter Carolyn of Mt. Gilead, Ohio and Louise (Thomas) Newcomb and their daughter Piper of Ashland. Two brothers, Bill Barr of Ashland and Dave (Ann) Barr of Jeromesville, and numerous nieces and nephews and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son, Casey Matthew Barr and three brothers, Roy Tom, Hugh “Jim” and Garry Barr.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 19, 2017 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home, 313 Center St, Ashland, Ohio 44805. A graveside service, and burial, with military honors, will take place at the Dayton National Cemetery for family and close friends.
