June A. Shearer, 79 of Ashland passed away, Monday evening, October 30, 2017 in Brethren Care Village.

She was born on January 28, 1938 to the late Charles K. and Evelyn (nee Hoag) Henry in Ruggles.

June married Robert E. Hetsler on April 24, 1954. Together they celebrated 21 years of marriage. He preceded her in death on August 23, 1975.

For many years, June worked at the Savannah Lake Kennels and was a playground aide at the Savannah Elementary and enjoyed babysitting.

June remarried on May 13, 1985 later to Ralph “Jake” Shearer who passed on February 14, 1995.
She was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church where she assisted in the kitchen with dinners and also helped clean the church for many years.

Throughout her life, June enjoyed collecting hummingbirds, snowmobiling, and travel in their trailer and camping.

June is survived by one daughter, Kathy (Dale) Norris of Ashland; one son, Gary (Cheryl) Hetsler of Ashland; five grandchildren, Michael Walton of Columbus, Barbara (Richard) Fuller of Ashland, Kristy (Matt) Landers of Ashland, Dawn (Tim) Adkins of Savannah, and Robert Hetsler of Ashland; nine great grandchildren, Bayley, Logan, Kaydence, Xavier, Chanin, Madison, Tabitha, Morgan, and Taylor; one sister, Helen (Jerry) Duck of Florida; and her feline companion, Angel.

In addition to her parents and two husbands, June is preceded in death by three sisters, Viola Bennett, Esther Arnholt and Sandra Jones; and one brother, Bill Henry during the Korean War

Funeral services will be held, Friday, November 3, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. in the Denbow-Gasche Funeral Home with Pastor Brad Ingram officiating. Interment will be in the Savannah Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Central Ohio, 1050 Dauch Drive, Ashland, Ohio 44805.
