Joseph Herman Winklmann, 87
Joseph Winklmann, 87, Ashland was born 1930, in Wilkinsburg, PA. A young man raised during two world wars, a great depression and many obstacles during his youth, nothing could stop “Joe” from aspiring to be great.
He married his high school sweetheart, Betty Ann, May 5, 1951 and recently celebrated their respective 66th wedding anniversary. They had 3 children, Mark, Jo-Ann, and Peggy.
Joe rose to many occasions throughout his life to include 4 years of Naval Service, at which he was an Aerial Photographer, stationed in Guam, and Pensacola, Florida. An avid sports fan, and baseball player from youth, Joseph enjoyed time with family and friends and playing and watching sports.
He successfully went on to become a college graduate, professional businessman, all while working for large corporations such as Westinghouse, Tappan, and Massey Ferguson, before finally starting his own business. His peers, friends and clients referred to him as a doer, full of ideas, intelligent, creative, witty and a true delight to be around.
His true passion was that of his family. Being there for them and always leading by example.
Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Ruth Winklmann; sister, Marion; and a daughter, Peggy.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Ann; children, Mark and Jo-Ann; grandchildren, Kyle, Tim, Ashleigh, McKenzie; and great-grandchildren, Kealey, James, Colton, and Cannon.
His memory will forever shine through.
